ABOUT SPINALCARE AFRICA
Restoring mobility, dignity, and hope through accessible spinal care.

OUR STORY
SpinalCare Africa was born from personal experience, compassion, and an unshakable belief in the power of hope.
In 2008, our founder Dr. Omotayo Omoteso survived a tragic road traffic accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Doctors were unsure if he would ever walk again. Through emergency spinal surgery, months of physiotherapy, unwavering faith, and extraordinary support, he regained mobility — step by step.
His recovery was nothing short of a miracle, and it became the driving force behind SpinalCare Africa: a commitment to ensure that people across Africa facing similar spinal injuries are not denied treatment, rehabilitation, or the chance to walk again.
Today, this lived experience fuels a mission rooted in compassion, dignity, access, and restored hope.
Across Africa, thousands of people suffer spinal injuries every year due to road traffic accidents, falls, untreated medical conditions, and violence. Many are left paralyzed or in chronic pain simply because they cannot afford the cost of surgery or access timely rehabilitation.
These injuries do not only affect the body — they shatter families, livelihoods, education opportunities, and the ability to dream again. In many communities, a spinal injury becomes a life sentence of disability, poverty, and isolation.
SpinalCare Africa exists to bridge this gap — to ensure that no one is denied care simply because of where they were born or what they can afford.
